Dr. Katie Buchbinder, DMD

Dr. Katie Buchbinder’s journey towards pediatric dentistry began at her mother’s dental office when she was six years old. She was captivated by the bustling atmosphere, wanting to participate playing “dentist” with her cousins and handing out prizes to other kids. Her passion for dentistry and working with kids was sparked by seeing these once frightened children leave with smiling faces.

Dr. Katie grew up in New Jersey and attained a degree in Chemistry at The College of New Jersey, graduating magna cum laude and honored as Phi Beta Kappa Scholar. She continued her dental education attending the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. There she became a volunteer at Kids Smiles, teaching dental education to young kids to relieve their dental fears. After dental school, Dr. Katie completed her pediatric specialty training education at the University of Pittsburgh. There she spent two years gaining experience treating children of all ages, with areas of focus being children with special needs, conscious sedation and general anesthesia.

Dr. Katie believes it is a privilege to have the first impact on children’s oral health and the opportunity to shape the way a child views the dentist. She takes pride in helping children overcome their fears and educating families. She aspires to create a supportive dental home for patients, making a trip to the dentist something that her patients (and parents!) will look forward to, just as she did.

In her spare time, Dr. Katie enjoys spending time with her family, running in road races, traveling, and exploring new bike trails by the Jersey Shore.
